In this film directed and produced by Oscar-winner Odessa Rae Kate Daudy fills New York City with the words and ideas of refugees from Azraq refugee camp in Jordan. The film was made in 2018 during the Muslim Travel Ban. Daudy’s idea was to connect the ordinary people of New York with Muslims from Azraq, expressing lessons learned from their experience of becoming refugees and messages of good will. Daudy’s work invites the viewer to reflect on the idea that everything is connected, and that we share the same core human qualities that transcend time and place. With music by Moby, the film was given to the UNHCR and seen in various forms something like 30 million times according to the UK office of the UNHCR. Odessa Rae went on to win an Oscar for the film “Navalny”.
