Superbloom

Bonsai wire with rocks found in Somerset by Ava Howard.

Daudy follows through her interest in light and shadow and in the liminal space between states of being, light and shadow. wire and rock. The ephemeral nature of our existence is underlined by the fragility of this work, while the formality of their long form calls to mind The Burghers of Calais on its pedestal near the artists childhood home and other 19th cent sculptures one finds in Parisian avenues.

Also following through an ancient Chinese art by turning rocks and pebbles into contemporary take on the scholar's object. Conversing along an entire wall these small sculptures cast shadows that move according to the time of day and whose interactions with one another are constantly changing.
